Marble Arch is a white Carrara-marble monument which is situated at the junction of Oxford Street in Park Lane, London. It is precisely on a large traffic island and has a small park amidst the swirling traffic. The name, “Marble Arch”, refers to the west London locality where the arch is located, especially the south part of Edgware Road. Inside the arch, there are three small rooms which were used as a police station till 1950. Designed by John Nash in 1828, the arch has unique historic past to it.
