The Serpentine Lake is a 28 acre recreational lake situated in Hyde Park in London. The name, Serpentine is given to this lake as it has snakelike curved shape. This is also a boating lake and known as one of the most pleasant places to experience summer vacation in London. There are 110 pedalos and rowboats at the lake, and a pleasant swimming area too. Fed by a pure underground spring, the lake is home to many wildlife habitats and has been designated as a bird sanctuary. There are five fountains and a garden to the north side of the lake which are surrounded by sculptures and statuary, the Italian Gardens.
