The British Museum is situated on the Great Russell Street in London and is open daily from 10 to 5.30. Only certain selected galleries are open for public viewing on Thursdays and Fridays.

The museum gives information about the human history and culture of the city. There are over 13 million artifacts displayed in the museum from different continents making it the largest and widest collection in the world.

The museum was founded in 1753 and covers an area of 13.5 acres with 94 galleries. It has the world’s largest collections of antiquities from ancient Rome, Asia, Egypt, China, Japan, Middle East, Europe, America, Oceania and more.

It has one of the largest collections of money in the world and one can explore the complex relationship between animals and human beings at the museum.

There are more than 4000 highlights which can be seen at the museum and one would have to visit this museum time and again to really explore the entire place.
