There is a lot more to the Thames River than sightseeing in London, right from its sources near to the Cotswolds to the Teddington Lock, you can see many sights here. The River is the perfect place to go whilst in London, for boating, skate parks, fishing, walking along the river and spending time simply relaxing in any restaurant or a pub. As this river will soon gear up to prepare for the 2012 Olympics, this is the ideal time to get out and make the most of what this river has to offer.
Walking early morning or in the evening along this river is bliss. One can take a stroll along the Thames Path, which is 184 miles of national trail that stretches from this river in the Cotswolds to almost the sea. The walking trail passes through the water meadows, unspoilt rural villages, historic cities and towns and finally cutting through the heart of the city finishing at the Thames Barrier in Greenwich.
Whilst walking the Thames River, youcan drink in the sights and listen to the sounds right from the Arcadian countryside of the Richmond lost floodplain through the vibrant city to the Dickensian expanse of the marshes situated to the East.
