Victoria Park is also known by the name, Vicky Park. This park is spread in 86.18 hectares of open land, extending out to the part of the East End of London, England. The park is situated within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and is also used as a concert venue. Each year, lots of festivals are hosted here. Victoria Park was voted in 2008 as the best local park of London as per the Time Out Magazine.
The park is noted for many open air festivals that are connected to a political cause. In 2008, two concerts were played by Radiohead here on the 24th and 25th of June. The following year, Madness celebrated their 30th year with a fifth Madstock on 17th of June. The park has also become famous amongst dance music’s well known names like Dutch DJ, Tiesto in 2009 and in 2010, with Deadmau5, a Canadian artist, scheduled to perform in June 2011. You can therefore count on major acts hosting amazing shows throughout the summer here.
In 2010, on 24th and 25th June, the park was the site of the High Voltage Festival. Popular amongst the children, the park is host to a One O’ Clock Club for under five kids, a place for programme of summer activities, home for a herd of goats and deer and even an amazing place for children’s play park other than a paddling pool.
