Useful tips: Born in Luton. Now 54 years old. Luton was a thriving and nice place to live. Gone badly down hill in the last ten to fifteen years. Lived in sundown for last 30yrs always loved it but a lot of rented houses and some private properties gone down hill. Gardens over grown, and rubbish left in gardens. At local shops we have nearly all restaurants and takeaways. Council changed parking but not for the better.

General opinion: Luton is a large city located in the Luton-Dunstable Urban Area in England. This city is a unitary authority with a population of about 200,000 inhabitants. The town is known as a hat making town, with scenic landscapes and a booming industrial area.
Blessed with a temperate climate, Luton experiences subtle summers and cool winters. The temperatures can be highly variable at times, falling or rising to a certain extent. The city receives enough rainfall throughout the year.
Historically, the city has been a chief industrial centre with various small scale industries. Today, the economy is mainly service based with the retail sector playing a major role.
