The Royal Lytham & Annes Golf Club was started in the 1886 and the first British Ladies Golf Championship was held here in 1893. The golf course has 198 bunkers and starts with a par three hole.
The Main Promenade near the central pier has a number of ornamental gardens which overlook the sea and the nearby beach has been renovated to include an amusement arcade for small children, kiosks for refreshments and other attractions.
Other activities that one can indulge in while at Fairhaven Lake include rowing, dingy sailing, water skiing, boating and more. There are provisions for bowling and tennis in the Lowther Gardens.
There is a Toy and Teddy Bear Museum which is set in an historic building and has five rooms with more than three hundred dolls and a collection of doll houses with games, pedal cars, prams and other items.
