Chatsworth House is an historic house and estate which was once the residence of the Duke and Duchess of Derbyshire and is seen in the film ‘Pride and Prejudice’ released recently.

Matlock Lido is an open air pool which was started in May 1938 for the British Olympic Diving Champion and has been covered with a roof recently.

National Trust Ilam Park is a hundred and fifty eight acre Country Park on the banks of the Manifold River which is owned by the National Trust. This park gives fascinating views of Dovedale and the place contains the Ilam Hall which is worth visiting.

The National Stone Centre is a site which displays the three hundred and thirty years old tropical reefs which can be of interest for ecologists and environmentalists.
