Tourist Guide Middleton
Historically, this town was a part of Lancashire, and was in the center of much circumjacent settlement. At present, this town is a predominantly residential area of contrasting affluence. There is the Langley in the north side of the town which is one of the Manchester City Council’s overspill public housing estates. On the other hand, Alkrington in the south is a premium suburban area which is home to many celebrities. During the middle ages, Middleton was a center of domestic flannel and woolen cloth production. Because of the Industrial Revolution, industrial scale textile manufacture was introduced in this town.
