There is the Parish Church of St Leonard which got completed in 1524. Another church named by the Saxon church was built in 1100. There is an oldest war memorial in UK named the Flodden Window. The present church which has the sanctuary has one of the best collections of monument brasses in the area.
There is the old Boar’s Head Inn which is situated below the parish church on Long Street and which was originally a coaching inn on the road between York and Chester. This Inn dates back to 1632. One can visit the Alkrington hall which was built in 1736 and which was the seat of the Lever family. One can visit the Tonge Hall which was a Tudor structure that was destroyed by an arson attack in 2007.
