The city of Nottingham is dotted with a large number of parks and gardens.
The Wollaton Park is a huge park in the city and the most famous. This park covers an area of 500 acres.
It surrounds Wollaton Hall, a famous country house, in the city.
One can see lush green landscapes all over the park. Tall and mature trees mark the boundary of Wollaton Park.
One of the most astonishing parks in Nottingham is the garden located in the University campus which includes a beautiful lake.
Colwick Park is outstanding as it includes a racecourse as well.
The Nottingham arboretum is a collection of a variety of trees, plants and flowers. Visitors can spend leisure time at this extensive park. This park is always crowded as it is in close proximity to the city centre.
Forest Recreation Ground, Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park, Creswell Crags and Rufford Country Park are considered to be the green lungs of Nottingham city.
