The University of Oxford is considered to be one of the finest universities in the world. This university is located in Oxford city in England.Traces of the university date back to the 11th century. Though teaching has taken place since 1096, the origin of the university is still unknown.
This is the oldest English speaking university in the world. Thousands of students come here to study every year. However, tourists are also attracted by several interesting features. The university buildings are the best examples of excellent medieval architecture.
The university houses several libraries that hold a huge collection of books. These libraries include Bodleian Library, Radcliff Science Library, Sackler Library and the Oriental Institute Library.
The University of Oxford also features the famous Ashmolean Museum. This is the oldest museum in the nation. The key features of this museum are arts and archaeology. Creations by Picasso, Turner, Leonardo and Michelangelo are well preserved in the museum.
