The Royal Citadel was built following the English Civil War and was considered as the principal fortress in England. It features some outstanding illustrations of 17th century barbeque architecture. This was built to defend the coastline from the Dutch and is still in use by the military. Over the years, it has been strongly well maintained and is equipped with historic exhibits like 113 guns.
