Pontefract is said to be one of the advanced towns situated in England. Over the years, Pontefract has developed as one of the most appointed centers in the country.

Built in 1888, the famous Wakefield Church recently became the Church of All Saints when the Wakefield Diocese carved out of the Ripon Diocese. There is also a famous Wakefield Museum where one can explore sounds and sights of rainforest which were explored by Charles Waterton who was the environmentalist of Pontefract.

Anglers Country Park, Brodsworth Garden, Hemsworth Water Park, Newmillerdam country Park, Sandal Castle and Pugneys Country Park are some of the interesting places in Pontefract.
