Tourist Guide Ripon
A market town, Cathedral city and a civil Parish, Ripon is located in the Borough of Harrogate, Yorkshire and the Humber in England. The Laver and Skell streams converge at this place which finally merge in the Ure River. It is located at a distance of 11 miles from Thirsk, 16 miles from Northallerton and 12 miles from Harrogate. It was earlier a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire.
The seventh smallest city in United Kingdom, the population of the city was 15,922 as per the UK 2001 census. It is a well known tourist destination due to the many racecourses and Cathedrals located in the city. It is also in a close proximity to Studley Royal Park and Fountains Abbey which are the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The climate is dry and hot in summer while in winter is it moist and cool. As such the clime of Ripon is moderate. The temperature ranges between 110 F to 26 F. In the month of October to March most of the rainfall occurs.
