Tourist Guide Sandown
On the south east coast of the Isle of Wight, is the seaside resort town of Sandown.
To the south is Shanklin town and both the towns share Sandown Bay which is remarkable for its long stretches of golden sandy beaches.
The twin resorts of Shanklin and Sandown attract a number of visitors every year.
The population of the city is recorded as 5,299.
A wealth of natural features surrounds the town. The Culver Down supports exclusive wildlife and seabirds nesting on the cliffs. There are beautiful bird watching spots on the freshwater wetlands. The marine sub-littoral zone is the most noteworthy wildlife designation of the area.
The place in characterized by its mild climate. For many years it has held the “All England” sunshine record.
