Tourist Guide Sawtry
Sawtry stands at Fens’s westernmost edge; halfway between town of ‘Huntingdon’ and ‘Oeterborough’. The other villages in vicinity are inclusive of Folksworth, Holme, Stilton, Yaxley, and Alconbury.
Sawtry can boast of 2 public houses: The Greystones and The bell. It is also a home to an ‘Ex-Services and Working Men’s Club’. This place contains a ‘Junior School’ and an ‘Infant School’; which goes on to educate several young people coming from Sawtry as well as nearby hamlets.
Sawtry houses a Leisure Center that was upgraded off late. It contains football pitches, a gym, and public ‘swimming pool’. There is also an ‘Astroturf pitch’ (artificial). There lies a row of ‘shops’ in center of Sawtry: a vet, a Newsagents, a Fish and Chip Shop, a hairdresser, a Bookmaker, and hardware store that does not exist any more.
