Hylton Castle had been constructed by ‘Sir William Hilton’ from 1374 to 1400. Gatehouse tracing back to the fifteenth century still stands erect.
An interesting feature with regards to Hylton Castle is that the visitors can carry their dogs along with them.
North East Aircraft Museum
This museum was opened in the year 1993 with the objective of housing notable aircrafts like Thunderstreak, Greek Sabre, and numerous home-made aircrafts.
Timings
North East Aircraft Museum remains open every single day between 1000 and 1700 hrs. These timings are applicable from 1st of April to 31st of October. From 1st of November to 31st of March, the museum opens at 1000 hrs and closes at sunset.
Apart from these, the museum remains closed on 1st of January, 25th of December, Boxing Day, St Stephen’s Day, and 26th of December.
