Tourist Guide Shelf
Shelf is a small village in West Yorkshire, England. The location of this village is almost halfway between the townships of Bradford and Halifax. Previously, Shelf formed a part of Queensbury & Shelf, which was an urban district present in the Western Riding side of Yorkshire in England. Queensbury and Shelf were later split in 1974, under the conditions laid by the Local Government Act passed in 1972.
The decision stated that the Shelf part would go to the borough of Calderdale, and the rest of the part would go to the Metropolitan Borough of Bradford. This village is the birth-place of world renowned footballer Frank Worthington. Shelf had a good name in the wool industry that helped Calderdale boom greatly in the textile industry. The village is a part of the Victorian civilization that formed most of its neighborhoods and it still houses some structures that date back to that environment.
