Shelf is a village closer to Calderdale and Bradford which are very good industrial and tourist spots. Thus this village has also gained importance in both these areas. This village houses many hotels and inns and are used by tourists if they want to wander in the neighbourhood of Shelf. The village has a flair for sports where football is the main popularity. Thus many sporting events are carried out here which gives a pedestal to the budding sport persons of this area.
Shelf also has some fine churches along with some housing complexes, which date back to the Victorian empire. Besides these, there are some mosques which can be visited. The village has some libraries and they host a good variety of books based on the history and evolution of Shelf and its surroundings. Shelf does not disappoint but has a reason to celebrate by keeping its traditions strong.
