Tourist Guide Sherborne
The Market town of Sherborne is located to the North West of Dorset. It is situated on the banks of the river Yeo and along the A30 road. The population of the town is 9,350 of which 40.8 % are retired. Because of its picturesque beauty it is also a tourist town and no doubt the most charming city of England.
Most of the town is built from ochre ham stone including the medieval and Georgian buildings. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful towns in England has much to offer visitors, lots of medieval buildings, a fantastic Almshouse and castles and historical manor houses and private schools.
It also hosts the Sherborne Abbey Festival each year in May.
The climate is moderate with mild winters and warm summers. The principal activity here is agriculture but tourism is also coming up as a developing industry. The excellent transport links enable the town to prosper. It also has delightful shopping centres.
