Tourist Guide Skelmersdale
Skelmesdale is a town in West Lancashire, England. It lies on the River Tawd which is 12.7miles, to the northeast of Liverpool, 15 miles south-southwest of Preston and 22.8 West-northwest of Manchester. This town is known locally as Skem. A number of cottages and gardens can be found all over the town.
The town mainly has numerous housing estate, industries, Co-operative bank, cosmetic manufacturer Constance Carroll, and a distribution center for P&G, Potato snacks from Walkers. The town comprises of the international headquarters and UK manufacturing centre of Turtle Wax and many others. Skelmersdale houses the corporate base and a distributed center for Matalan and it is also home to Frederick’s Dairies which make ice cream for Nestle and several parlous across Lancashire. Skelmersdale had a population of 38,813 by the census in 2006.
