Tourist Guide Snowdonia

Snowdonia is a national park in the northern part of Wales in the United Kingdom. This region which is home to approximately 26,000 inhabitants attracts millions of visitors from everywhere.

Snowdonia has a unique topography which includes mountain ranges and a long coastline and is watered by several lakes and rivers. It was also the source of most of the slate in the world; however, most of the quarries are no longer functioning.

Snowdonia receives a fair amount of rainfall and the mountain tops are often covered by mist and fog. The average temperature in the summer is 15°C and during winter the temperature hovers around 5°C.

Early in the history of this region, it served as a natural fortress for the Princes of Wales. Fifty years ago, the national park was established—the first of its kind in Wales.
