The village of South Normanton houses an old Parish Church.
St. Michael Church stands on the hilltop of South Normanton Centre. The old settlement started around this church. Hence, the tourists can view the old cottages nearby the church.
There is a windmill conversion which is located off the Fordbridge Lane. Hardwick Hall is one of the great Elizabethan houses which were built more than four hundred years back.
The house consists more of glass than walls and has the best collection of tapestries and embroideries in Europe.
There are several things to see here including the spectacular gardens of orchids and herbs, the stone centre, the Ivan Turner Miniature Furniture Collection, the three hundred acre parkland with meadows and woods and more.
Newstead Abbey was a monastic house in the 12th century and was owned by the Byron family who lived here. One can see the beautiful Victorian home setting, the panelling in the Great Hall and a fascinating collection of paintings and furniture at this place.
