North West Museum of road Transport, which was previously called ‘St. Helens Transport Museum) houses several exhibits of buses operating through municipal bus companies; inclusive of Liverpool, St Helens, Widnes, Southport, Chester, and Warrington; along with vehicles from previous Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive. While most of the vehicles which are housed at depot seem to be buses, fire engines, classic cars, and trucks are also present.
This museum can be traced back to the year 1881. It had got closed down due to some renovation on the part of old depot. It then got reopened in September 2006 (following the restoration).
Timings
North West Museum of Road Transport remains open on every weekend between 1200 and 1800 hrs. In summers, it opens an hour earlier.
