Swanage offers many attractions to visit.
A Portland stone globe weighing 40 tons is the main attraction at the Durlston Country Park.
This 260 acre park is a tourist centre for wildlife and quarrying.
Slabs surrounding the globe are inscribed with Biblical or Shakespearean passages The Park is full of stone benches and plaques scribbled with quotations or information.
Swanage has a lot of museums including the Dorset County Museum that features the Jurassic Coast Geology Gallery and Bournemouth Aviation Museum displaying 24 civilian and ex-military aircrafts.
Some of them still fly and eight of the cockpits are open to the public.
Experience the changing kaleidoscope of colours at the Blue Pool. Take the steps up to have an amazing view of Purbeck hills and step down to the water’s edge. Enjoy delicious lunches and cream teas at the Tea house.
Feed over 600 free flying swans and see baby swans hatching at the Abbotsbury sanctuary.
