Tarporley: Attractions and more...
Tourists who visit Tarporley town must visit the Bunbury Staircase Locks. The Staircase Locks offer a magnificent view of the surrounding areas.
The staircase is located on the Shropshire Union Canal. It is one mile away, on the northern side of the Bunbury village.
The two staircase locks are supported with wide metal beams. The road bridge and the paved canal side offer great panoramic views. The ideal thing to do over here is boating on the canal. Visitors will often see large numbers of colourful boats roaming on the waters of the canal.
Blakemere Craft centre holds a wide collection of workshops and craft shops. All these shops and workshops have accumulated in the Blakemere Hall. Craft lovers can unwind in the cosy coffee shops in the hall.
Tourists can view the ancient traces of the Tarporley village in Beeston Castle. The castle holds a regular exhibition of antique pieces and items found in the castle itself.
There is one more historic castle in the village, which is Peckforton Castle. Though it was built in 1850, all the features recall the medieval era.
