Tourist Guide Torquay
Torquay can be described as a town located in Torbay’s unitary authority. As such, it’s a ceremonial county with respect to Devon, England.
Torquay lies at an approximate distance of 26 Km on the southern side of Exeter along A380 towards the north of ‘Torbay’; and at the distance of 61 Km on the north-eastern side of Plymouth. It also goes on to adjoin neighboring town, i.e. ‘Paignton’ towards western side of bay.
The present scenario is such that Torquay forms 1/3rd area of Torbay. It is said to have mild microclimate; often having received maximum sunlight/day in UK. Winters have the tendency to be wet and mild. Cabbage trees are widely found over here.
Till early nineteenth century, economy of Torquay was completely based on agriculture and fishing. However, later on, town started getting developed in to an attractive seaside resort.
Torquay’s population as per census conducted in the year 2001 was 63998.
