Umberleigh is a tiny old style typical English village.

The most popular place in the village is the Umberleigh Railway Station. It is situated on the Tarka line, which is on the southern side of Chapelton and northern side of Portsmouth Arms. The railway line directly connects to Barnstaple and Exeter.
