Urmston: Attractions and more...
The Urmston Musical Theatre was formed as the Urmston and District Society in 1911. There are main shows in October held in this theatre with rehearsals running from the month of June to October. There is also the pantomime held in the month of January and February having rehearsals from November to the date of the show. These shows are performed at the poolside theatre within the Urmston Leisure Centre. The youth section performs a show in the month of May at the St Antony’s Catholic College.
There is a local amateur dramatic society named the Canterbury Players, wherein the performances are performed on the stage at the Davyhulme Methodist Church. The council in Urmston booked the Beatles to play at the Urmston Show in the year 1963.
One can even visit the Trafford Center which is a large shopping and leisure complex situated to the north side of Urmston.
