Tourist Guide Wetherby
Wetherby is a wealthy market town which lies in the metropolitan borough of the City of Leeds. It is one of the most important towns in the West Yorkshire County. The town is closer to the town centre of Harrogate.
Despite this, the postcode of Wetherby is Leeds City. This lively town is located on the banks of River Wharfe.
The town was the staging post and a crossing place for centuries together, since it is located between Edinburgh and London.
The population of the town area is only around 10,562. If the Wetherby Ward area is considered then the population comes up to 22,000 residents.
According to the legends, when the heavy snowstorm hits the area, Wetherby remains unaffected. Hence, the local residents say that the, ‘Weather goes by’. From which the name of Wetherby.
However, the region often experiences a colder climate. The summers, on the other hand are warmer due to the influence of tropical air masses.
