Tourist Guide Wychavon
Wychavon is a local administration district; it has its council in Pershore, and also includes towns like Broadway, Evesham and Droitwich Spa.
The name of the town is actually a merger of two different words, Wych is after the Saxon kingdom, and Avon after the River Avon.
The population of the town is 116,900, which ranges up to almost 50,000 homes.
This is the largest district in complete Worcestershire, and covers an area of 260 sq. miles. In the year 1974, the district was entitled as the local government district, with the coming together of Droitwich and Evesham.
