The Richard III Museum is situated in the Monk Bar, which is one of the 4 Medieval Gatehouses in the city of York. Richard III who was the King of England from 1483 to 85 was notorious for the number of murders he committed especially of his two nephews and this museum provides an informative insight into this controversy. The top storey of the museum was built by Richard III himself in the year 1484.
