Enniskillen is an island town about eighty eight miles from Belfast in the Fermanagh district of Northern Ireland. In the fourteenth and fifteenth century it was held by strong Maguire’s. As the time passed by in the year 1627 it settled into a small market town and became the home land for two regiments “The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers” and ” The Inniskilling (6th dragoons)”.
The population of the town was over 13,000. It is also the seat of the local government for Fermanagh District Council. The Enniskillen’s surrounding has a beautiful Lough Erne which is forty miles long with several mountains around and a number of lakes. In the 19th century, Enninskillen was known for its lace making industry. The population of this medium town is about fourteen thousand. The majority of people in this are Roman Catholic.
