Portrush Beaches : Best Beaches

Portrush’s beaches are some of the best known in Northern Ireland, with ideal conditions suitable for surfing and sailing.  Perhaps the most notable beach in the area is the Whiterocks Beach, which was awarded with the prestigious 2011 Blue Flag Award and is a local favorite.  The beach mostly attracts water sports enthusiasts, as regular surfers and body boarders can be seen in the surf, with plenty of nearby shops offering rental equipment services.  The beach is also ideal for picnics with grassy knolls with sea views.

If White Rocks is too crowded for your taste, then check out Portrush’s East Stand Beach.  A popular seaside destination for out-of-town visitors, it has everything needed for the perfect weekend break with plenty of accommodations, seaside restaurants and attractions near the water.  The East Beach’s highlights include glorious sand dunes, golden sands and dramatic cliffs with quality clean water.  There are also spectacular views over the Skerries to the Scottish Islands.
