Warren Point is famous for its scenic location, The Maiden of the Mournes festival and the Blues on the Bay music festival are held in this town.Narrow water castle is located just outside the town, and is a three-storey tower house dating back to 1560. It is build in order to protect the entrance to the Newry river estuary. A new narrow water castle was build just across the road in 1840.
The "mill dam" and the "waterworks" are the two small inland lakes build to provide ample and various opportunities for fishing which requires a permit for fishing. It is located almost at a distance of 1 kilometer outside the town centre.
Film, The Butcher Boy features the use of Warrenpoint promenade as a backdrop for Bundoran, especially the exterior of the Star of the Sea and the Edwardian swimming baths. The village of Omeath in the Irish republic is just about fifteen minutes away from Warrenpoint and can be reached by a small passenger ferry services.
