Tourist Guide Broadford

Broadford lies in the Southwest corner of Broadford Bay in Scotland. Along with neighouring Harrapool, it is the second largest settlement on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. This settlement is a beautiful tranquil area which has many services. It is overlooked by eastern Cuillins. MacKinnon Memorial Hospital is the local hospital in this settlement which has a casualty deparment and a small ward. Broadford has a Broadfield Airfield which is a small airfield at Ashaig. In Southern Skye, this settlement is the key service center. Some of the services offered in this place are a youth hostel, the world famous Skye Serpentarium, several restaurants and the Co-op supermarket combined with a 24 hour BP garage. Broadford has two harbors. One of these is located at the end of a narrow road on the western side of Broadford Bay. Nowadays, this is more frequently used. The other one called as “The Old Pier” is located behind Dunollie Hotel.

As per the 2006 census, the population of Broadford was 620.
