The Edinburgh International Festival is a festival of performing arts that is held in Edinburgh, Scotland. Held three weeks from mid August, the fest brings top class classical music performers, opera, dance and theater artists from across the world to perform in one platform. Moreover, the fest hosts many visual art exhibitions, workshops and talk shows too. The first fest took place between 22nd August and 11th September in 1947. At present, it will be held from 12th August to 4rth of September, 2011.
