Erskine is a commuter town in Renfrewshire in Scotland. It is located on the banks of the river Clyde. The name Erskine is derived from the Scottish Gaelic phrase “ard sescenn” which means high marsh. Erskine was first identified in the year 1225. Archeological evidences state that agricultural activity took place in this area as far back as 3000 BC.

The neighboring towns of Erskine are Renfrew, Bishopton, Inchinnan and Paisely which are located near the Glasgow international airport. The traditional county and former regions of Erskine are Renfrewshire and Strathclyde respectively. The population of the region is 15,347 (according to 2001 census). Erskine has a fine average temperature. Erskine is a place which has pleasant weather. The average temperature of this region is 11.7 in January and 69.0 in July. The town consists of five main residential areas, westpark mains, bargarran, linburn, millfieldeasy park mains and west forelands.
