Erskine: Attractions and more...
Erskine is a town with the suspension bridge towering high over the western limit of the town and is called as the Erskine Bridge. The Erskine hospital which is situated in the town provides long term intense care for the legends of the British armed forces. This hospital was built in 1916. The town also boasts of the unique natural habitat of New Shot Island’s nature reserve which juts out into the river Clyde. This island is now a peninsula which is created from the left over silt. The town’s high school Park Main is the largest school in the county and one of the biggest in Scotland.
The nature reserve also serves as a nesting point for a wide range of migratory birds .Thus making this reserve as a tourist attractive. The two attractive places worth visiting are the two new sporting facilities namely the Erskine community sports centre and the Astroturf football pitch at the high school.
