Tourist Guide Forres

Forres is a town located on the Moray coast in the north of Scotland. It is a former royal burgh. It is located almost 30 miles towards the East of Inverness. Within the town there are several historical monuments and artifacts as well as geographical attractions. The closest airport is Inverness Airport which can be reached in about 30 minutes by road. Just outside the town of Forres is its railway station which is operated by First ScotRail. In the past, this town was a junction in the Highland Railway network and this was the fastest way to reach Inverness. The A96 trunk route connects the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen and Forres is located on this route. Through the town center, there is a high volume of traffic and hence in the late 1980s, a bypass was constructed.  Forres is connected with Grantwon-on-Spey, Aviemore and the South by the A980 route.

The population of Forres as per the 2001 census was 9174.
