Fort William: Attractions and more...
The most popular attraction in the region is the Ben Nevis Mountains which has made Fort William the outdoor capital of United Kingdom. The mountains provide great mountaineering and hiking options to the visitors.
The West Highland Museum is a showcase of the region’s history which is illustrated in the various artefacts and relics housed here. It also houses antique weaponry and a research library with the most notable collection being from the Jacobite uprising.
Featuring a dynamic collection of lectures, workshops, films, plays, exhibitions and music is the Fort William Mountain Festival which is held annually and attracts a huge crowd every year.
When in Fort William, visitors should take a trip in the steam train which travels across the tiny islands in the region. The scenery along the way is enthralling and so is the fact that the train was used to shoot scenes for a Harry Potter movie.
