Tourist Guide Glasgow:

Glasgow is the largest city of Scotland. This city of approximately 578,800 inhabitants is located within the low-lying plains in the western part of the country and is surrounded by hills.

Glasgow has a very humid climate but the temperatures are quite mild. Summers are long and sunny making it the best time to visit with average temperatures at 18°C. Winters are not severe but the city gets a fair amount of rain at this time.

Glasgow came into importance during the Middle Ages when it was established as a seat of a bishop. Soon, it became the hub of trading activities and developed commercially.

Today, it is a modern city and a key financial centre of Europe. It is also a popular tourist destination with a thriving cultural scene.
