The Burrell Collection is an art collection which is situated in Glasgow in Scotland. This museum is located in Pollok Country Park to the south side of Glasgow city. The collection was put together by Sir William Burrell for many years. At the museum, the visitors can wander and see significant collections of medieval art, stained glass and English oak furniture’s, tapestries and even alabasters.
The Burrel Collection
The Burrel Collection is one of the most popular tourist attractions of the city of Glasgow. It is an extensive and diverse museum that magnets a lot of visitors.
Bestowed to the city by Sir William Burrell in 1944, the museum exhibits impressionist paintings by artists like Degas, Sisley and Bellini. Other displays include Greek and Roman artifacts, elaborate tapestries, Chinese urns, ceramics, and much more.
A rotating selection of about 3,000 of total 8,000 items is exhibited at once.
