Rating:

The Caledonian Canal was built from 1803-1822, by engineer Thomas Telford. The canal stretches from the Scottish east coast at Inverness till the west coast at Corpach, which is near Fort William. This stretch of land is 62 miles in length. The canal is mostly natural due to a geological fault in the crust of the Earth, and only 1/3rd of it is man made. The canal is popular for fishing, boating, walking, sailing and watching the waterside wildlife.
