St. Andrews Church is the oldest building in Peebles. This church was founded in 1195. The beautiful monument was destroyed by the Henry VIII soldiers and some of the ruins were pilfered for other local buildings leaving the church tower standing amongst the gravestone of the churchyard. Moreover, tourists frequent Peebles to view the remains of the church.
