Tourist Guide Strathpeffer
Strathpeffer can be described as a hamlet as well as previous spa town located in ‘Ross and Cromarty, Highland, Scotland’.
Strathpeffer lies in ‘glen’; at the distance of 5 miles on the westrn side of Dingwall. Its elevation varies between 200 and 400 feet over sea level. Having been sheltered on northern and western side, this place has comparatively warm and dry climate.
Strathpeffer’s location is strategic. This thing has caused numerous battles to be fought in this region. One of them includes Blar Nan Ceann.
Arrival of railway in the year 1862 in Dingwall did loads to have brought a large number of visitors over here. In the year 1885, branch line was built from ‘Kyle of Lochalsh Line’. It, however, got closed down in the year 1951 due to certain disagreements amongst landowners. At present, this station contains a spectrum of craft outlets and shops; apart from Highland Museum of Childhood.
Population has been estimated to be 1469.
