Caernarfon, meaning ‘a castle in Arfon’ is a splendid town in Gwynedd, Wales. Housing a populace of approximately 12,000 inhabitants, Caernarfon is a traditional town which is best known for its stone castle, the Caernarfon Castle. Narrow streets, charming old walls and serene surroundings make up the picturesque old town.

The climate in this region is of a variable nature with the rainfall being the most notable feature of the climate. Summers can get very hot, although cool breezes temper the heat. Winters are cold with snowfall being a regular feature.

Settled by the Romans, Caernarfon was an important trade route. Interestingly, it is now known to be the most Welsh town in the country with the industrial revolution bringing it prosperity. The economy of Caernarfon is based upon tourism, agriculture and farming.
