The Cardiff Castle is a medieval castle and mansion in Cardiff, Wales.

Built in 1091 and remodelled in the nineteenth century, the castle displays Gothic architecture. With its lavish interiors, stained glass, marble and intricate wood carvings, the castle is seen as one of the most popular sightseeing attractions in Wales.

The castle has lush Mediterranean gardens with Italian and Arabian decoration and also houses a regimental museum in its expansive grounds.

One of the most striking features of the castle is the ornate Clock Tower which is a splendid attraction, apart from the spectacular architecture. The grounds of the castle where peacocks and geese can be spotted are also worth looking at.

Every year, the castle hosts the Cardiff University’s Summer Ball and also Wales’ largest Mardi Gras, both of which are popular events.
