Avoid massive crowded pubs near the Wood Street area and travel in a group at night. The Millennium stadium can get crowded during events and the traffic here can be a nightmare during such times.
As Cardiff is a small place all the streets, restaurants and pubs get packed during the matches and finals. Do remember that car parking on the street is managed by a parking voucher system, fines are applied to those who do not display them.
While buying a gift item at the Castle gift shop note that some items may be expensive when compared to the local market. Beware of unlicensed cab drivers who can assault female customers who travel alone at night or in diserted localities.
Certain localities such as Bute Street and some parts of Grange town are to be avoided at night as cases of thefts and mugging have been reported here.
